Kristen Stewart Gets Two New 'On the Road' Co-Stars

Kristen Stewart will be traveling On the Road with some high-profile company. The Twilight beauty, who's currently filming the movie adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic novel in Canada, has just been joined by two new co-stars. (Sadly, no, neither of them are named Robert Pattinson—though her Twilight co-star did pay Stewart a sexy visit on set yesterday.)

The Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen and Enchanted actress Amy Adams have both signed on for the Walter Salles-directed adaptation, which is slated for release next year. Mortensen will portray Old Bull Lee, a character inspired by Naked Lunch author William S. Burroughs, while Adams will play Jane, based on Burroughs' wife, Joan Vollmer. (Vollmer died in 1951 at the age of 28 when Burroughs accidentally shot her in the head. Apparently Adams, who has also signed on to play rock legend/drug casualty Janis Joplin, has acquired a taste for playing ill-fated historical figures.)

Stewart is portraying Marylou, based on LuAnne Henderson, the first wife of Neal Cassady (dubbed Dean Moriarty in the book/movie, and portrayed by Garrett Hedlund).

As 'Remember Me' Opens, We Celebrate With Other Memorable Movies About Remembering Stuff

Have you spent the past several months in Robert Pattinsonwithdrawal? Do you fall asleep at night clutching an Edward Cullen action figure and weeping hysterically with the desire to just see Rob's chin-scruff on the big screen one more time?

But for anyone who was feeling a touch desperate over the recent lack of feature films starring our favorite floppy-haired Brit, today is a very important day: "Remember Me", the film starring Robert as a human being with pretty eyes and non-sparkly pectorals, is making its premier in theaters everywhere. Also starring Emilie de Ravin, the drama has been one of the most hotly-anticipated movies this year. Hollywood Crush is celebrating the momentous occasion of its release with a top ten list of some other great, memory-based movies that you can check out in the coming weeks.

Some are about amnesiacs, some are about flashbacks, and some just, er, have the word "remember" in the title. Holler!

1. "Remember Me"

Robert Pattinson! Emilie de Ravin! Two damaged people falling headlong into a passionate romance on the streets of New York! And also... Robert Pattinson! Don't pretend like you need another reason to see this movie. There isn't one.

2. "A Walk to Remember"

Why do movies based on books by Nicholas Sparks always end up on these lists? Because we love to cry, that's why. Enjoy this flashback story of a romance between poor, martyred Mandy Moore and her bad-boy hot-friend played by Shane West; weep when she succumbs to cancer; then freak the hell out of your boyfriend by turning to him as the credits roll and sniffling, "If I had leukemia, would you marry me and build me a really big telescope before I died?"

3. "Remember the Titans"

Starring Denzel Washington as a football coach and adorable, prepubescent Hayden Panettiere as a football-obsessed child, this movie's action-packed football scenes and heartwarming backstory ensures that you WILL remember the Titans. Whoever they are. And hey, is that Ryan Gosling?! Ooh, it is.

4. "An Affair to Remember"

No, not THAT kind of affair — it was the 1950s, you guys! Words meant different things back then! And in the 1940s, the best way to have a memorable affair was as follows: Fall in love with Cary Grant on a transatlantic cruise, vow to break off your engagement and meet him in six months at the top of the Empire State Building, then get struck by a cab on Sixth Avenue and lose the use of your legs. OUCH. But don't worry, it all works out in the end.

5. "Total Recall"

Arnold Schwarzenegger is having weird dreams about Mars... or are they NOT dreams? This retro sci-fi flick has held up surprisingly well, as it depicts the former Mr. Universe recovering his lost memories by following a trail of video clues left by his Martian alter-ego. He also spends much of the movie running away from Sharon Stone, who wants to kill him. We'd run, too. She's SCARY.

6. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

We love Kate Winslet as a blue-haired indie girl, we love Elijah Wood and Mark Ruffalo as pathetic creepsters, and we love Jim Carrey for taking on a role that requires something other than making faces and screaming. The story of a couple who meet, break up, surgically wipe out their memories of each other, and then meet again, Eternal Sunshine is adorable science fiction... or science fiction-y adorable-ness. Whichever.

7. "The Hangover"

Zach Galifanakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms don't know exactly what happened in Vegas, but their best friend is missing and there's a tiger in their hotel suite. Oh, and also a baby. Watch them piece it all together, and feel smugly superior that while you might have had a few too many on several occasions, at least you've never needed Mike Tyson to help you figure out what you did last night.

8. "The Bourne Identity"

Matt Damon has no idea who he is... but he looks awfully hot while he tries to figure it out. Enjoy his various confused expressions while he wrangles guns, chases bad guys and kicks the crap out of strangers for no reason except that, hey, it turns out he's really good at martial arts! WEIRD. It takes Matty about 90 minutes too long to figure out that he's a spy (duh), but watching him run frantically all over Europe with Franka Potente in tow is so entertaining that it doesn't really matter.

9. "Overboard"

On the surface, "Overboard" is just a lighthearted comedy about an amnesiac trophy wife. But dig deeper, and you'll find a sordid and cynical take on the darkness that inhabits the minds of men — because if a beautiful lady can't remember who she is, then apparently the thing to do is kidnap her and convince her that she's your wife. Fortunately, the presence of Goldie Hawn in this movie manages to make it funny, rather than creepy as all get-out.

10. Memento

Guy Pearce got whacked on the head, can't make new memories and that's sad. But he compensates by tattooing important information all over his body and then taking his clothes off in order to look at it, so THAT'S pretty cool. Directed by Christopher Nolan with all the same stylish flair of "The Dark Knight" (but none of the crazy bat-shenanigans), this is our pick for the best memory-based movie that doesn't involve Robert Pattinson.

Did we miss any of your favorite "memorable" films?

Will Shazia be a Rosa Parks?

Where is one to find answers for all the questions that stare at you? Why do parents, who cannot afford to feed or clothe their children, have them? Why hasn't the state enacted any laws to protect the rights of children in this country? The alleged mistreatment and mu-rder of a 12 year old girl has been a headline story this week and has touched everyone who is a parent or wants to be one. It has reminded me of the squalor and misery of the chil-dren in the Oscar award winning film Slum Dog Millionaire. The compensation of Ru-pees five hundred thousand to Shazia's parents is probably going to pacify them in their abject poverty. There are countless underage children who work as domestic help in homes and work long hours, for little compensation. There is no one to check the abuse they have to endure. It is a ve-ry common sight to see these little helpers sitting quietly on the side in expensive restaurants as their wards, not much younger than them, are pampered and fed in style by their parents. It has become a practice in this society to be as mean as possible to those who have nobody to side with them and are defenseless.
Where does the fear of God, so talked about in this country all the time, disappear when attacking the vulnerable? The exact cause of Shazia's death/murder has not yet been established or made public, but her frail little body had all sorts of marks on it, depicting torturous punishments. Shazia belonged to a minority religious group in Pakistan which makes it doubly shameful. The poor child could never have imagined, in her wildest dre-ams, that she would become a household name, in her death. That Parliament would observe a minute's silence for her. That political leaders would come from far and wide to offer condolences.
Perhaps, in death Shazia Masih can be a tipping point, just as Rosa Park's was in the US when she refused to give up her seat in a bus to a white person. Even as she sat firmly in her seat, Rosa Parks courage stood up for the ideals of freedom and justice for all. After this incident, Alabama's black community started a major bus boycott which was thought to be a laughable mat-ter initially but became a serious issue for the Mont-gomery Bus Service. It ended only when the US Supreme Court declared bus segregation unconstitutional.

Will a Woman Replace Regis Philbin on 'Live!'?

Showbiz legend Regis Philbin is still going strong at 78 years old, but what will happen to 'Live! With Regis and Kelly' if and when The Reeg decides to retire? From what I'm hearing, it might turn into a dual-woman show, as producers think no man can match Regis' prowess -- so they'll just go for a woman instead. Makes sense, no? That, plus scoop on January Jones' photo uh-oh and Sundance fun after the jump.

Replacing Regis With a Woman?

How do you replace Regis Philbin? Well, you can't, but that's the question that the producers of 'Live! With Regis and Kelly' are slowly starting to ask.

"He's Regis, a showbiz legend but at 78 years old, he isn't getting any younger. There has to be internal talk about finding a replacement," a TV insider tells me.

And although the show seems to have been testing many great potential new hosts out while Regis underwent his recent successful hip replacement, none of them have been able to fill his huge shoes. That's led some producers to argue that trying to find a man to replace Regis is impossible, and that the only option is to find a woman.

"Kelly is fantastic with other women. She's a girl's girl. Having her co-host with another lady would be the perfect solution to the problem. That way you avoid any compressions to the masterful Philbin," a TV executive tells me.

That seems like a good idea to me! Does anyone have Paula Abdul's number handy?

January Gives SAGs the Cold Shoulder for Jeremy Piven

Silly, silly January Jones. SAG awards sources tell me the 'Mad Men' actress who plays Don Draper's wife skipped flying into Los Angeles last weekend to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards because she "wasn't feeling well." So you can imagine what SAG voters thought when pictures emerged of Jones out with rumored boyfriend Jeremy Piven the same evening as the awards.

"She blew it big time," a TV insider tells me. "'Mad Men' won for Best Ensemble Cast and she would rather spend the evening flirting with Jeremy Piven!"

Give the girl a second chance, SAG. Maybe she was too sick to travel, and Mr. Piven just took her out for some chicken soup? Hopefully love cures everything.
