Alicia Keys has given birth to a baby boy.
The singer and her rapper husband Swizz Beatz are celebrating the arrival of their first child after Keys went into labour a month early.
Keys, 29, gave birth to the boy – who they have named Egypt Daoud Dean – on Thursday, at New York's St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital.
Swizz Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, posted the baby news on his Twitter page, saying: 'I'm so thankful for everything I been [sic] blessed with in my life. Wow!'
R&B singer Mary J Blige later confirmed the news on her Twitter page, writing: 'I'm so excited to congratulate my brother @therealswizzz and @aliciakeys on their new baby boy!'
The couple, who met while working together on Whitney Houston's album I Look To You, got married in July.
Beatz has three children from previous relationships – two sons, Prince Nasir Dean, 10, Kasseem Dean Jr, 4, and a one-year-old daughter – while this is the first child for the Grammy Award-winning performer.
Beatz recently spoke of his love for his wife, saying that he felt “blessed” to be married to her.
He told MTV.com: 'It's a blessing. I look at my relationship with my wife as a union that's just connected… spiritually.
'Love is a word that's powerful, but the feeling is even stronger. To identify that feeling is something that's amazing because it doesn't only come from your partner.'
