Top Critics Activates,
Top critics gave new Ben Affleck ‘The Town’ movie positive reviews. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new Ben Affleck branded,action/drama flick “The Town” into theaters today,and the top critics seemed to be pretty impressed with it,giving it mostly B ratings across the board. The movie stars: Ben Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Pete Postlethwaite, and Chris Cooper.
Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a B. He said, “it’s moody and grim and engrossing if you approach it with the right expectations.” Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times gave it another B. He stated, “Affleck has the stuff of a real director.”
Michael Phillips over at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B- rating. He said, “It’s violent but softhearted.” Lisa Schwarzbaum over at Entertainment Weekly gave it a great A- rating. She stated that it was, “satisfying, flavorful.”
Bill Gibron from Filmcritic.com gave it a B+. He stated, “Affleck once again proves that, while perhaps lacking a certain element in front of the camera, he is an auteur in the making behind it.” Sheri Linden at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a C+. She said, “Steeped in an authentic sense of place, this crime drama is less convincing on the storytelling front.”
Finally, James Berardinelli at Reelviews gave it a B. He said, “director Ben Affleck is able to imbue staple action scenes with a sense of urgency and tension.” “The Town” movie is in theaters now. Get
