'New' Michael Jackson Track 'Opis None' is Over 30 Years Old

November 06, 2010, (Sawf News) - The alleged war between Michael Jackson's family and his record label took a bizarre turn today when the star's mother released a 30 year old track to website TMZ claiming that it was 'brand new' material.

The move came after a week of online gossip claiming that Jackson's family believes vocals on the singer's posthumous album have been faked.

Katherine Jackson appeared to confirm these rumors today by releasing a song to TMZ and allegedly making a dig at Sony for teasing a new Jackson song - 'Breaking News' - on its website.

TMZ wrote, "Michael Jackson's mother has decided to let the world listen to a brand new unreleased MJ song -- and, taking a shot at Sony, one she claims is 100% authentic."

Katherine Jackson's business partner Howard Mann added that the 'authentic' track - called 'Opis None' - had been released for free "in an effort to overcome the confusion as to the authenticity of the track the estate has recently released."

Since being uploaded onto TMZ, the track has been played on Good Morning America, who also presented it as a new song.

However, fans immediately spotted that the track wasn't 'brand new' at all. It's actually a remix of the 1978 Jacksons track 'Destiny', taken from the album of the same name. The album sold over 2million copies and the track was even released as a single in 1979.
Jackson supporters have voiced their annoyance on fansites, claiming that the remix is of poor quality and will not encourage the public to buy the singer's new album.

On the fansite MJFU, poster MickeyJ wrote, "I don't understand Katherine Jackson. According to TMZ, she gave them this song saying it was a genuine unreleased song, probably suggesting this is the kind of material in the 'vault'. Clearly it is a bad, bad, bad mix of a 30 year old song. Unbelievable."

Fellow fan TimJen added, "It's almost as if it's intentional. To sabotage the Sony project. It actually hurt my ears."
