Why can't Kim Kardashian keep her clothes on

Woman who's said she regrets posing for Playboy a few years back, Kim Kardashian seems to be having an awfully hard time keeping her clothes on.

The reality TV star, who when clothed is rarely seen in anything other than a barely-there bikini or skin-tight dress, not only took it off for the nudie mag in 2007 but for two other publications since then.
In May, Kardashian appeared completely naked in Harper's Bazaar, a shoot supposedly meant to show off her natural, unretouched body.

Kardashian complained to Bazaar that she was "sorry" she did Playboy. "I was uncomfortable," she said, adding it was her mother, Kris, who encouraged her to strip down.

(Don't most moms work hard to keep their children's clothes on?)

At the same time, she told Bazaar that she found the nude photoshoot "liberating."

Kardashian once again chose liberation over modesty in the November issue of W magazine, which hit newsstands Tuesday.

The cover shot features a full-frontal Kardashian, wearing nothing more than a come-hither look.

In the photos inside the magazine, the olive-skinned beauty appears nude, slathered in silver paint. We're told that it's all in the name of art, seeing as this particular issue of W is the magazine's "art issue."

Now, there are some gorgeous, powerful stories in the issue. But when it comes to Kardashain, we've seen it all before, and knowing her, we'll see it all again. Soon.

Whether she's tweeting about laser hair removal, flirting with the Paparazzi in a barely there bikini, or showing off her unbelievable ass(ets) on the red carpet, her message is clear.

Kim Kardashian likes her body.

Kim Kardashian is proud of her body.

Kim Kardashian wants you to see her body.

But Kim Kardashian doesn't want you to have her body.

Kardashian has been known to frequently post photos of her bikini-baring body on Twitter. (photos: Twitter)

In July, the buxom babe pleaded with a fan not to undergo plastic surgery to look like her.

"Don't try 2 b someone else. Im sure u are beautiful inside & out! Just as u are," she wrote to the fan who tweeted her.

Pretty easy for Kardashian to say. She gets to wake up every morning as Kim Kardashian.

But is it any wonder why someone might feel the need to impersonate her? After all, she makes thousands of dollars just for showing up at a nightclub, and routinely dates superstar athletes. Who wouldn't want that gig?

The reality is that her repeated decision to flaunt her body for no other reason than because she can serves as a reminder of how much we as a society value body over mind.

We're not asking Kardashian to share her take on nuclear fusion, or even her tips for easy recycling.

But how about a turtleneck once in a while?
